0970/0975 Stan™ Stage 4 Pressure Injury Model features a large sacral Stage 4 pressure injury (per NPUAP 2016 Pressure Ulcer Staging Guidelines), with eschar, subcutaneous fat, undermining, tunneling, slough, eschar and exposed bone with osteomyelitis. This model also includes a Stage 3 pressure injury with subcutaneous fat and granulation tissue. The large size and depth of the Stage 4 pressure injury, as well as the undermining and tunneling, make it ideal for patient simulation. It’s also perfect for practicing the proper dressing and preparation of a large wound for use with a negative pressure wound therapy device. The Stage 3 pressure injury is positioned so that the Stage 4 can be dressed by itself or a “bridging” dressing can be applied to the Stage 4 and Stage 3 to demonstrate and practice this skill.
The unique flexible life-like material permits the placement and removal of dressings for use with negative pressure wound therapy devices without leaving an adhesive residue. It is also possible to demonstrate wound cleansing, classification and staging, as well as the measurement of wounds.
Great care has been taken to hand paint each wound just as it would be seen on a patient for the most life-like patient simulation. Wound assessment has become critical to the operation of health agencies, as inaccurate wound assessment can affect reimbursement, cause inaccurate reporting of patient outcomes and the appearance of potential adverse events. This VATA model makes it possible to visualize and understand the differences in wounds for optimal simulation. Once the different etiologies are understood, they can be discussed and treatment plans devised that will deliver optimized patient care.
The skills that healthcare professionals learn with this VATA model can be used to obtain positive outcomes with a variety of chronic and acute wound types. Ideal for practicing treatment on other pressure injuries, diabetic wounds, abdominal wounds, trauma wounds, flaps and grafts. Compact and weighting only 2 lbs., this VATA Inc. model is easily transportable.
A great tool for training, competency testing, skills assessment, dressing techniques and use of negative pressure wound therapy devices!
Optional carry case available 0971.
