The LapTrainer with SimuVision with APDS Basic Laparoscopic Skill Set is a training package that includes a highly portable, innovative laparoscopic video trainer.

 

Simulab's SimuVision technology allows instructors or learners to perform life-like simulated laparoscopic surgery

 

Along with the trainer and simulated laparoscope, the package includes the APDS Basic Laparoscopic Skills Module that focuses on basic hand-eye coordination, fulcrum effect, depth perception, hand coordination, and needle manipulation.

  • Use two hands in a coordinated fashion
  • Develop laparoscopic depth perception by manipulating objects

  • Become accustomed to the fulcrum effect; manipulate instruments opposite to the direction of the effective tip
  • Practice needle transferring, knot tying, dissection, and suturing
