Pediatric Physical Examination Simulator
Overview:
Kyoto Kagaku's new Pediatric Examination Simulator is designed to represent a 1 year old child, and allows for training in vital sign measurements and physical examinations.
This pediatric trainer comes complete with equipment to run training for infant examinations. Included are items of clothing for accurate patient handling, and a controller that can adjust the baby's vital signs.
What practical skills can be taught on this pediatric manikin?
A range of practical skills can be practiced, including:
- Measurement of respirations, heart rate, body temperature and blood pressure
- Auscultation of heart, breath and bowel sounds
- Palpation of the greater fontanel
- Observation of the nasal, ear and oral cavities, as well as observation of the eyelids
Overview:
- Representative of a 1 year old infant, 67cm in height
- Ideal for training beginners in pediatric examinations
- Cast in a special soft resin for realistic experiences
- Hip joints are articulated, allowing for manikin to be put in a seated, or supine, position
- Reproduces the physical characteristics of an infant
The controller can replicate the following:
- Heart sound auscultation. Heart rate range: 80-150. Cases: normal, functional murmur, ventricular septal defect
- Lung sound auscultation. Respiratory rate range: 20-40. Cases, normal, pneumonia, asthma
- Bowel sound auscultation. Cases: normal
- Phonation. Cases, woken-up voice, hungry, sleepy, stimulation
- Volume on the internal speaker and simulated stethoscope can be adjusted from 0-10
- Use the controller to select which part of the trainer you want to work on
- Vital sign settings can be hidden on the controller during training and examinations
