Laparoscopic Student Skill Set
The Laparoscopic Student Skill Set includes five tasks that support the ACS APDS Curriculum for building basic laparoscopic skills.
The tasks included are a pegboard, a key and rope trainer, a simulated intestine, and tissue suturing pads.
Each task includes a reference card that supports the students during the procedure, provides performance-level guidelines, and outlines required supplies.
The student skill set tasks focus on essential hand-eye coordination and can be used with the LapTrainer with SimuVision or secured to a table for the classroom, clinic, home, or office use.

Laparoscopic Student Skill Set
- The Peg Board develops hand-eye coordination and ambidexterity by requiring the user to lift each disk, transfer between hands, and place disks on a designated peg.
- The Key and Rope Trainer develops 3D to 2D orientation skills, and ambidexterity and allows the student to work through unnatural wrist rotations.
- The Tissue Suture Pad allows for the development of skills required for needle transferring, placement of a suture, and knot tying.
- The Pre-Marked Simulated Intestine allows the user to secure a soft tissue model in place and practice advanced suturing and immobilizing tissue skills.
